Conspit MAX 01 Review: One wheel for Formula and GT Racing
We spent a week with Conspit's dual-discipline wheel. Premium carbon bones, two cheap touchpoints, and a warning about what's missing from the box.

We've been driving the Conspit MAX 01 for a week. Carbon fiber face, a 4 inch touchscreen, and a price under $800 that puts it in a gap most brands leave empty. It lists at $729 (€799 including VAT in Europe).
We score everything three ways: quality, performance, and value, then average them into an overall. Every review runs on the same rig, a Simucube 2 Pro wheelbase with triple monitors, so the comparisons mean something.
What's in the box
You get the wheel, a coiled USB cable that plugs straight into your PC, a whole lot of stickers for customizing your button layout, and the hardware for your wheelbase adapter.
What you don't get is the adapter itself. This wheel needs a 70mm adapter to bolt onto your base, and ours was sold separately. Some retailer listings suggest otherwise, so check before you order. More on that in the tips at the bottom.
The layout is comprehensive for a formula-style wheel: 12 buttons (two on the back), 4 shifters, and 8 dials. And the first thing you notice picking it up: this thing is light.
Quality: 7.0
The bones of this wheel are genuinely premium. Full carbon fiber face, which makes it one of the lightest wheels in this category. Every button has a proper click. The paddles are super smooth, quiet, and easy to shift with. The part that stood out most, though, is the LEDs: absolutely no light leak whatsoever, which is hard to find at this price point.
But then there's the stickers. At this price, we'd expect higher quality than what's provided. The button labels look like they came off a home printer, and on a face this nice, it stands out.
The grips stood out too, but not because we love holding them. Basically no cushion at all. With gloves, without gloves, they're just hard, and after a week our hands were feeling it. Maybe they break in.
Premium bones, cheaper touchpoints. Quality gets a seven.
Performance: 8.5
This is where the MAX 01 earns its money, and it comes down to the size.
Most wheels in this style make you choose between formula and GT. This one sits right in the middle, and it genuinely works for both. We tested it side by side with our GSI and our Bavarian Simtec. We love the GSI for formula racing, but it's big, it's clunky, and it's too heavy for GT work. The MAX 01 handles those quick, short formula corrections, and then you jump into a GT car and it's still comfortable working the full lock. One wheel that does both disciplines. That's rarer than it should be.
The screen and the software did what they were supposed to. Everything talked to SimHub, telemetry worked, no fighting it.
If you run formula and GT on the same rig, this is the argument for this wheel. Performance gets an eight and a half.
Value: 8.0
At $669 in the RSS Shop, look where it sits against the wheels we just compared. The GSI and Bavarian Simtec cost well above it, and it's a clear step up from what you'd pay for a Moza wheel priced below it. That's a real gap, and this wheel fills it.
Inside Conspit's own lineup, the MAX 01 is the sweet spot: more wheel than the 300 GT and 290 GP without the flagship money of the PW1. The screen alone is doing work at this price.
Who's it for? The one-wheel racer. If you only ever drive formula, or only ever drive GT, there might be a more specialized pick. But if you run both and want one wheel that does it all, this is priced right for that. Value gets an eight.

A genuinely versatile wheel. Even with the lower end touchpoints, the premium bones, plug and play ease, and versatility make the MAX 01 a strong contender for any GT and formula wheel shortlist.
